Moravian-Silesian cuisine is based on dishes made from potatoes and cabbage (thick nutritious soups), dishes from meat and smoked meat, sweet dishes and dessert from yeast dough (i. e. plum dumplings, fruit cakes). Bear is a traditional drink – in the region there is so-called beer trail where you can visit small regional breweries that offer not only beer tasting but also a tour to see the beer making process.
As for regional specialities you can taste cabbage soup, Silesian “bigos” or sweet gingerbread pastry in the form od ears called “Štramberské uši”.
